Community Read
The World of Wellesley Community Read invites residents to engage with books and authors who challenge perspectives, deepen understanding, and inspire action toward equity and inclusion. Through facilitated discussions, film screenings, and school collaborations, this program fosters shared learning and community dialogue around race, identity, and justice.
Marathon Fundraiser
Each spring, the Marathon Fundraiser supports the World of Wellesley’s educational and community programming through participation in the Boston Marathon. Runners and supporters come together to advance the organization’s mission of building a more equitable and inclusive Wellesley, turning athletic endurance into social impact.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
The annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day event brings together community members, students, and local leaders to honor Dr. King’s legacy through reflection, music, and service. This program emphasizes civic engagement and the ongoing work of justice, equity, and anti-racism within Wellesley and beyond..
Global Heritage Festival
The Global Heritage Festival celebrates the vibrant diversity of Wellesley through performances, storytelling, and cultural exhibits representing the many traditions that make up our community. The festival highlights shared humanity while honoring differences, creating a joyful space of belonging for all.

The World of Wellesley Student Grant Program provides funding for student-led projects that promote equity, justice, and inclusion within schools and the broader community. By supporting youth leadership and creative civic engagement, the program helps develop the next generation of changemakers committed to building a more just society.

White People Challenging Racism
Moving from Talk to Action (WPCR) brings people together to examine white privilege and racism in order to galvanize them to anti-racist action. Our mission is to provide people with tools and resources to challenge and change attitudes and actions that perpetuate racism. While our focus is on white people’s role in dismantling racism, our courses are open to everyone who is committed to achieving racial justice.

SURJ BOSTON is a local chapter of Showing Up For Racial Justice, a national network of groups and individuals organizing white people for racial justice. Through community organizing, mobilizing, and education, SURJ moves white people to act as part of a multi-racial majority for justice with passion and accountability.

Black Lives Matter Boston’s mission is to organize and build Black power in Boston and across the country. Some examples of this is to galvanize our communities to end state-sanctioned violence against Black people. To support the development of new Black leaders, as well as create a network where Black people feel empowered to determine our destinies in our communities.
